WELCOME TO
FERNVALLEY WILDLIFE CENTRE
Located in Tingwall in the Orkney Islands off the top of Scotland, come and take a walk on the wild side with us!
With a range of unique and fascinating species, you can get up close and personal with snakes, take the tunnel into our meerkat dome, learn about conservation, and watch the ring-tailed lemurs play through our tearoom viewing window!
Our on-site tearoom serves homebakes and light lunches. Combine a visit with a visit to the wildlife centre, or just come down to the tearoom to spot local wildlife such as seals, orcas and seabirds, and take in views of Rousay, Wyre and Gairsay.
We use a selection of local produce including coffee by the Orkney Roastery. Food is available to eat-in or takeaway to eat elsewhere or at our outdoor picnic areas just outside the main centre and up in the meadow.
In the meadow you can have a picnic, play garden games, explore our wildflower maze and fairy garden, or play pirates on the pirate ship. You can also take the tunnel to check out our bug hotel, and walk the Orkney Vole trail.
Finish your visit with a souvenir from our peedie shop. We have a selection of local arts and crafts as well as Wild republic and Nature planet plush toys.
